Pink flamingo ,split stem.?

Just been having a look round the Garden and noticed that the harsh frosts we had has Split the Flamingo tree in half,it stands about 4 ft and has a dia.of about 1inch, the split is half way down the trunk from the top can anybody give some advice on how to repair it.cheers.
