I need serious help with inflamed gums?

My very back tooth on the right side of my bottom row is surrounded by the most painful case of inflamed gums I have ever had! And it has completely overtaken a sharp end of my braces which consequently made it worse.. I need help before I go get a bottle of scotch and a handgun to blow my freaking head off
