Why is it hard to connect my laptop to the internet?

I have a inspiron 1525 laptop and suddenly it is extremely hard to connect to my internet, but once I get it connected I am fine. Also, i cannot connect my Xbox 360 to the same internet. I have a Linksys Cisco router. Would anyone be able to help me?
