Why is it that people who hit your car...?

Probably because they don't have a valid license or insurance. It sucks, but things like this happen every day. It just happened to a family member of mine recently, and it really sucks because her insurance company is trying all that they can to cut cost and make her life more miserable than it already is cos they're the only ones covering for the accident, not the other party's.
