Why are the Cubs so lousy at times?
The Saint got it right when he said Managers have not been able to right the ship that is the Lovable Losers/Chicago Cubs. The nickname says it all, losers. The fans continue to support them though they have disappointed them year after year. The Tribune Co. continues to overpay for marginal talent that are never leadership quality. Then the one year they show some sparks of brilliance, 2003, Cubs fan Steve Bartman interferes with Moises Alou. Not to say that was the main reason they didn't make it to the World Series, but it goes right along with the "curse" many believe the Cubs have on them. What they need is for their star players to not get injured as much, become leaders, get along, and have a manager in place that guys will run through a brick wall for.
